DigitalColor Meter

DigitalColor Meter is a little color sampling app bundled with OS X that you might not know about it.

Cool, but beyond my typical use case

Sorry to be a simpleton, but my typical use would be matching colors in Keynote or another graphics app such as Omnigraffle. How do I use the text version of the color then?

  1. Thanks for the question George. So there's not a directly easy way "out of the box" to do this.

But what you could use is a little add-on for the OS X color picker called "Hex Color Picker" available here: http://wafflesoftware.net/hexpicker/

Then you can copy/paste from DigitalColor Meter into the picker for Keynote, Omnigraffle, etc.
